Intimate Backyard Wedding in Chantilly VA

Weddings

Leyla and Michael are married! Although they never imagined (even in their wildest dreams) that they’d tie the knot in the midst of a pandemic, life had other plans. And they just couldn’t wait to make things official! Their intimate backyard wedding in Chantilly, VA was so magical. And, I’m thrilled I was able to be a part of it with them!

Intimate Backyard Wedding in Chantilly VA

Leyla and Michale have actually known each other since 8th grade. 13 years after their high school graduation, they reconnected at a mutual friend’s house. It was an answered prayer! During their wedding toasts, Leyla’s best friend actually said that she and her husband had prayed that the two of them would wind up together… and they did! I think everyone attending their small wedding had the same feeling!

When Leyla and Michael reached out to me about their backyard wedding, they were about a month out from the big day. They shared that they’d be getting married at Michael’s parents’ house and Michael’s dad was busy getting everything ready! As more details were shared, I quickly learned that their wedding day was happening with lots of help from their amazing friends and family. Michael’s mom cooked the food and family friends made all the desserts! From start to finish, it was clear to see that both Leyla and Michael are family-oriented. Their day definitely reflected that, too!

Magical Wedding Details

They tied the knot in the backyard. Shortly after, they hosted a Zoom call to connect with the family and friends who couldn’t be there. And even with it being a smaller ceremony and event, Leyla and Michael found plenty of ways to make the day special. Just check out those Harry Potter cookies later on! They actually incorporated Harry Potter into the day a few times. Michael’s tie and Leyla’s ring both reflect some of the spirit of that famous wizard. I LOVE when my couples bring things they love to their big days and moments.

Congratulations Leyla and Michael! Your backyard wedding was special and so YOU. I loved capturing it and getting to meet some of the people closest to you (and thank them for the amazing food!). I wish you a lifetime of happiness together!!
